The importance of making a Will cannot be over-stressed. Each Will is tailor-made for each client taking into account their family commitments and personal and financial circumstances.
It will also have particular regard to the issue of taxation, particularly Inheritance Tax.
Most people will agree that they should make a Will but still the vast majority of people do not. Making a Will need not be complicated.
You will not normally need to decide where or to whom every single item in your possession goes after your death (although you can if you want to). If you do not want the Government to decide where your wealth goes after your death making a Will is essential.
Normally people will simply want to leave their Estate to their surviving spouse or partner, or to their children, normally in equal shares, but for whatever reason you may not want that to happen.
Making a Will is particularly important if you are divorced, re-married or co-habiting and even more so if there are any children involved in the relationship or previous relationships.
If you are in any way uncertain as to what matters you need to think about before making a Will or would simply like to talk things through with somebody independent we would be more than happy to arrange a brief informal meeting without any obligation or consider any enquiries which you may wish to make on-line.
